What Personal Data Do We Collect?

The type of personal data we obtain about you depends on how you interact with our Site and use our Services. When we use the term “personal information”, we mean information that identifies, relates to, describes, or can be associated with you. The following sections describe the categories and specific types of personal data we collect.

  • Contact details - including your name, address, phone number, and email address.

Information We Collect About Your Usage

We may also automatically collect certain information about your interaction with the Services (“Usage Data”). For this purpose, we may use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies (“Cookies”). Usage Data may include information about how you access and use our Site and your account, including device information, browser information, network connection information, your IP address, and other information regarding your interaction with the Services.

Hotjar

We use Hotjar to better understand the needs of our users and to optimize the offering and experience on this website. With Hotjar’s technology, we gain a better understanding of our users’ experiences (for example how much time users spend on which pages, which links they click, what they like and dislike, etc.), and this helps us align our offering with user feedback. Hotjar works with cookies and other technologies to collect data about our users’ behavior and their devices, in particular the device IP address (collected and stored only in anonymized form during your website use), screen size, device type (unique device identifiers), browser information, location (country only), and the preferred language used to display our website. Hotjar stores this information on our behalf in a pseudonymized user profile. Hotjar is contractually prohibited from selling the data collected on our behalf.

For more information, see the “about Hotjar” section on Hotjar’s help page.

Hotjar uses cookies and tracking codes to collect user data for website operators. Among other things, the tracking codes collect:

  • the device IP address (anonymized - only the last 3 octets),
  • the device type,
  • the device screen size,
  • the geographic location (country only),
  • the language used on the website,
  • the referring domain, and
  • the date and time of the website visit.

You have the option to object to the storage of cookies. Details can be found in the Hotjar cookies documentation. Link to Hotjar’s privacy policy.

Facebook Pixel

Our online offering uses the so-called “Facebook Pixel” from the social network Facebook, operated by Facebook Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2, Ireland (“Facebook”).

If a user clicks on an advertisement we have placed on Facebook, Facebook Pixel adds a parameter to the URL of our linked page. If our page allows the sharing of data with Facebook via Pixel, this URL parameter is written into the user’s browser by means of a cookie that our linked page sets itself. This cookie is then read by Facebook Pixel and enables data to be forwarded to Facebook.

With the help of Facebook Pixel, Facebook can determine visitors to our online offering as a target group for displaying advertisements (so-called “Facebook Ads”). Accordingly, we use Facebook Pixel to display the Facebook Ads we place only to Facebook users who have also shown an interest in our online offering or who exhibit certain characteristics (for example interests in certain topics or products determined based on the websites visited) that we transmit to Facebook (so-called “Custom Audiences”). With the help of Facebook Pixel, we also want to ensure that our Facebook Ads correspond to the potential interests of users and do not have a harassing effect. We can also use it to evaluate the effectiveness of Facebook advertisements for statistical and market research purposes by understanding whether users were redirected to our website after clicking on a Facebook advertisement (so-called “Conversion”).

The data collected is anonymous to us and does not allow us to draw conclusions about the identity of users. However, the data is stored and processed by Facebook so that a connection to the respective user profile is possible and Facebook can use the data for its own advertising purposes in accordance with the Facebook Data Policy (https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/). The data may enable Facebook and its partners to place advertisements on and outside of Facebook.

The data processing associated with the use of Facebook Pixel takes place exclusively if you have given your explicit consent in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR. You may revoke your consent at any time with effect for the future.

Use of Google Ads Conversion Tracking

This website uses the online advertising program “Google Ads” and, as part of Google Ads, conversion tracking from Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland (“Google”). We use Google Ads to draw attention to our attractive offers on external websites by means of advertising materials (so-called Google Adwords). In relation to the campaign data, we can determine how successful individual advertising measures are. Our goal is to show you advertising that is relevant to your interests, make our website more interesting to you, and achieve a fair calculation of advertising costs incurred.

The cookie for conversion tracking is set when a user clicks on a Google Ads advertisement. Cookies are small text files stored on your device. These cookies usually lose their validity after 30 days and are not used for personal identification. If the user visits certain pages of this website and the cookie has not yet expired, Google and we can recognize that the user clicked on the advertisement and was redirected to this page. Each Google Ads customer receives a different cookie. Cookies can therefore not be tracked across the websites of Google Ads customers. The information obtained with the help of the conversion cookie is used to create conversion statistics for Google Ads customers who have opted for conversion tracking. Customers learn the total number of users who clicked on their ad and were redirected to a page tagged with a conversion tracking tag. However, they do not receive information that can be used to personally identify users.

If you do not wish to participate in tracking, you can block this use by disabling the Google Conversion Tracking cookie in your browser settings. You will then not be included in the conversion tracking statistics. We use Google Ads on the basis of our legitimate interest in targeted advertising pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. When using Google Ads, personal data may also be transmitted to the servers of Google LLC in the United States.

Further information about Google’s privacy provisions can be found at: https://www.google.de/policies/privacy/

You can permanently object to the setting of cookies by Google Ads conversion tracking by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available from Google at the following link: https://www.google.com/settings/ads/plugin?hl=en
